Small ideas, big impact - what drives the Company today was at its core from the very beginning! Bajaj Electricals, then known as Radio Lamp Works Ltd, started operations by taking over the distribution of Italian-made Radio Lamps.

The Production stays up during the Second World War
Three years after acquiring the Shikohabad factory, the production finally commenced in 1943.
Though the process was tedious, Shri Kishenchand's acute foresight sustained the Company throughout the Second World War years, by maintaining the production of electric lamps.

The headquarters move to the buzzing town of Shikohdabad
What began as an enterprising first step in Lahore with the foundation of Radio Lamp Works Ltd, moved its headquarters to Jallandhar, and finally settled in Shikohdabad where the Company factory was located. This move ensured smoother operations and swifter co-ordination leading to optimal productivity & utilisation of resources.

It was this decision that turned out to bring radical growth for the Company, in the near future.

Ramkrishna Bajaj's motto: Good ethics is good business
Ramkrishna Bajaj entered into the family business in 1952 as a Director. He was Managing Director of Bajaj Electricals from 1970 to 1980. He was appointed as Chairman in 1991 and he held the position till his demise.

A great leap in financial growth: the turnover multiplies
As Kaycee Glass Works LTD. started manufacturing fluorescent lighting fixtures in Mumbai along with electrical and scientific instruments in its acquired factory in Pune, the turnover of the company increased multiple times over, going from Rs. 18 lakhs in 1952-1953 to Rs. 1.13 crores in 1957 -1958.
This was a key milestone for company's financial growth.

In 1958, Kaycee Glass Works Ltd created newer opportunities for growth by becoming the sole selling agent of Kassels Fans, manufactured by Matchwell Electricals (India) Ltd.

Company changed its name to Bajaj Electricals Limited, as Radio Lamp Works Ltd. no longer seemed to be an accurate representation of the company's diversified activities and aspirations.

Ramakrishna Bajaj took over the mantle of the family business after the death of his older brother Shri Kamalnayan Bajaj and instituted the first-ever Long Service Awards
